Griffin Centre’s ability to meet the needs of youth, individuals with developmental disabilities and families in our community would be greatly diminished without the support of our loyal and hard-working volunteers. Our volunteers make an important contribution to those we serve.
There are a number of different opportunities for volunteers:
- tutoring/mentoring
- assisting in the delivery of group programs
- fundraising
- providing general administrative support
- committee work and special event support
We value our relationship with volunteers and want it to be mutually beneficial. Volunteering at the Centre will help you to learn new skills, make new connections and touch people in a significant way.
As part of the volunteer screening process, Griffin Centre conducts interviews with all potential volunteers and provides an orientation for new volunteers. We are required to conduct police checks and to secure references on all volunteers. We also require that a medical check is conducted by your physician. Special forms will be provided to you in order to complete this screening process.
We are always looking for volunteers to fill different positions. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Judith Guzman, Coordinator of the Volunteer Program at jguzman@griffin-centre.org for more information.
Griffin Centre welcomes Volunteers from all communities inclusive of race, culture, religion, sexual orientation and with differing abilities
