What is Residential Support Services (RSS)?
Griffin Centre provides a range of 24-hour residential care and support services for youth with a dual diagnosis (i.e. mild to moderate developmental disability and mental health challenges) in community based settings.
Who can access?
- Youth who are between 12 and 18 years of age at the point of referral
- Have a developmental disability, or a dual diagnosis (mild to moderate developmental disability and mental health challenges), and also have significant behavioural difficulties
- Have had considerable difficulty in remaining at home or in less intensive community - based alternatives (i.e., foster homes, group homes)
- Live in the City of Toronto

- Assessment of strengths and needs youth and family
- Highly structured daily programming
- Individual, family and group counselling
- Service coordination
- Psychiatric consultation
- Nursing support
- Life skills and social skills training
- Recreational activities
- Short-term respite care
- Individualized home, family and community support programming
- Access to community schools or Griffin Day/School Support Services

(Dual Diagnosis)

PATH Residential Program in former Scarborough for youth
(Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Provides a therapeutic program for youth with a dual diagnosis (mild to moderate developmental disability and mental health challenges including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who have difficulty coping in community based settings.
Who can access?
- Youth who are between 12 and 18 years of age at the point of referral
- Have a dual diagnosis (mild to moderate developmental disabilities and complex mental health challenges) including Autism Spectrum Disorder; and also have significant behavioural difficulties
- Have had considerable difficulty in remaining at home or in less intensive community-based alternatives (i.e., foster homes, group homes)
- Live in the City of Toronto
